Kevin's research projects

Blizzard Baja - Advanced Motorsports (AMS) Enterprise - Trailer Improvements

The Michigan Tech Blizzard Baja Enterprise is a student-led organization that designs, builds, and tests a single-seat off-road vehicle to compete in a national competition. Each year, the team designs and builds a completely new vehicle for entrance into one or more of the national SAE Baja events.

Blizzard Baja - Advanced Motorsports (AMS) Enterprise - Competition Trailer Improvements

Currently, our two enclosed trailers have room for improvements in function and safety. We currently have one older generator that has to be shared between four teams, and this creates a problem when two teams have overlapping events. After several years of normal wear and tear, the non-slip floor covering needs replacement.

MTU Blizzard Baja SAE 2016

The Blizzard Baja SAE Enterprise is comprised of about 50 undergraduate engineering majors from multiple disciplines, as well as several graduate engineering students and undergraduate business majors. The objective of the Blizzard Baja SAE Enterprise Program is to design and manufacture a single seat off-road vehicle and then use it to compete in national competitions.

MTU Blizzard Baja SAE Enterprise

Michigan Tech's 2016 Baja car is on track to be the fastest, most technologically advanced Mini-Baja car to date. It is expected to have the lightest chassis, fastest acceleration and top speed, highest durability, and above all, win all three National Competitions.
